Tracking not updating? Common fixes
Tracking shows no update for days
Scans only post at a post office or sorting hub, so 24–48 hour gaps are normal — longer over weekends, holidays or in rural routes. Wait a day, then contact the booking office if still stuck.
“No information available” for my number
The number may not be in the system yet (allow a few hours after booking), or it was typed wrong. Re-check letters vs digits — O vs 0, I vs 1.
Delivery was attempted but I missed it
A redelivery is usually attempted the next working day. You can also collect it from the delivery post office with an ID proof.
International item stuck at customs
Customs clearance can hold an item for duty assessment. This is outside India Post's control and usually resolves in a few days.
